James H. Thrall, MD
Radiologist-in-Chief at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Thrall was appointed to Radiologist-in-Chief at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1988 and, at the same time, is the first person to hold the Juan M. Taveras Professorship of Radiology at the Harvard Medical School. He continues these appointments today and serves on the Executive Committee of the Harvard Departments of Radiology. Dr. Thrall has worked extensively on the development of telemedicine systems and chairs the International Medicine Committee of the Massachusetts General Hospital. He has co-founded two companies in partnership with MGH to provide teleradiology and telemedicine services.

Giles Boland, MD
Vice Chairman of Radiology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Boland’s areas of specialty include PACS, Teleradiology, Voice Recognition, RIS, and the enterprise digital solution to PACS and RIS integration. He has conducted approximately 40 presentations in over 15 countries on these topics. As a practicing radiologist, his interests lie in Abdominal Imaging and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Boland is an Advisor to the World Health Organization, Geneva Switzerland and a reviewer for multiple scientific journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Radiographics, American Journal of Roentgenology and Journal of Intensive Care Medicine.

Keith J. Dreyer, DO, PhD
For over 20 years Dr. Dreyer has been a leading expert on PACS. Dr. Dreyer brings significant expertise to the RCG, focused on Internet based medical image distribution, voice recognition, electronic medical records, and Internet/CD-ROM based medical education. As the Vice Chairman of Radiology Informatics and the Corporate Director of Medical Imaging, Dr. Dreyer has lead Massachusetts General Hospital through numerous digital imaging initiatives. Additionally, Dr. Dreyer is widely published and serves as a clinical and technical advisor for several major medical imaging companies.
Dr. Dreyer's accomplishments are extensive and include: PACS installation at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, image distribution solution for Partners HealthCare System, and the creation of the MGH Advanced Imaging Laboratory.

Patrick Jordan, MBA
Chief Operating Officer at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Mr. Jordan is responsible for the successful fiscal recovery of a 250 bed community teaching facility. His responsibilities include liaison to the Hospital Board of Trustees and Partners HealthCare System operating committees. Additionally he leads the following functional areas: Information Systems, Human Resources, Food Service Operations, Security, Volunteer Services, Materials Management, Purchasing, Parking, Safety and Facilities and Environmental Services. Mr. Jordan has 5 years senior radiology leadership experience.

Denise S. Palumbo, RN, MSN
Administrative Director of Radiology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Ms. Palumbo is responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic management of Radiology, the second largest department at MGH which has over 500 physicians and staff and is responsible for over 410,000 patient exams annually. Ms. Palumbo brings a strong clinical background to the role with a focus on leadership development, competency based training and patient safety.

Sonny Patidar, MD, MBA
Dr. Patidar is a practicing radiologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital / Instructor at the Harvard Medical School, and is actively involved in the radiology business and management aspects of the department. He is a seasoned entrepreneur as a founder of medicalrecords.com, as well as two other internet based e-health companies. He has been involved in the entrepreneurial aspects of radiology as the founder of a mobile diagnostic imaging company. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center campus of Harvard Medical School with a fellowship focus in MRI/Cross-Sectional Imaging at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
Dr. Patidar received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at Boston University, then worked as an investment banker for Goldman, Sachs in New York. He attended the University of Chicago MBA program concentrating in finance, and then completed medical school at the University of Health Sciences, Chicago Medical School. |

David W. Charpie, MBA, MS
Executive Director RCG HealthCare Consulting, Mr. Charpie is responsible for leading all facets of the firm’s strategic and operational direction. He is an experienced senior executive and entrepreneur having successfully led businesses in the healthcare informatics, consulting, technology, information services, and market research industry segments. Mr. Charpie is recognized for his expertise in helping organizations improve their performance by leveraging technology and content for strategic advantage. His work in this area created several first-of-a-kind solutions including development of the first commercial longitudinal patient behavior database of over 50 million individuals, and initial design of the UN/SPSC commodity coding system, the international standard for trade. Mr. Charpie earned his MS and BS in Nuclear Engineering from M.I.T. and his MBA from M.I.T.’s Sloan School of Management. He is a member of the Sigma Xi, Tau Beta Pi, and Alpha Nu Sigma honor societies. |

Daniel I. Rosenthal, MD, FACR
Vice Chair and Professor of Radiology, Associate Radiologist-in-Chief, Director, Skeletal Radiology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Rosenthal‘s professional and research interests have focused on his interest in disease of the skeleton and locomotor system. He has also been involved in the development of new therapeutic treatments for osteoid osteomas, as well as Gaucher’s disease. Recently, he has helped the department become one of the pioneers in digital imaging and teleradiology. He is a dedicated and highly regarded teacher and was recognized by the Laurence L. Robbins Teaching Award.

Sanjay Saini, MD
Dr. Sanjay Saini is a Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and the Vice Chairman for Finance in the Department of Radiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital where he practices abdominal radiology with an academic focus on liver imaging with CT and MR. From 2004 to 2006 he served as the Timmie Professor and Chairman of Radiology at Emory University. He is an author or coauthor of more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and three books and has lectured extensively around the world. Dr. Saini received his BA from Duke University, an MD from Tufts University School of Medicine, an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, and an MSc (Hon) from Harvard University. His radiology residency and fellowships were completed at the Massachusetts General Hospital. |
